Staco Energy Products Co. is the oldest and largest manufacturer of variable transformers in the United States. The first Staco Energy variable transformer was manufactured in Dayton, Ohio in 1937. 

Since then, Staco Energy Products Co. has pioneered improvements in design and construction of equipment for industrial, commercial, medical and military applications:
